Nestor began his career as a SW developer in 1989 and subsequently held a number of sales & Mktg positions, including Product Mgr at IBM, Latin America Business Development Mgr at Siemens Nixdorf and account manager at Wang prior to join Microsoft. During that time, he gained valuable experience in international business development, people management, program management and customer service.
Nestor joined Microsoft in 1997 as an Account Mgr. He later was Senior Account Mgr for Financial Svcs, Strategic Partner Mgr and Sales Mgr, when he was selected to oversee the Developer Support strategy for Latin America at the Global Technical Support in Dallas. He was appointed to the additional post of online community program manager in 2003 and held both positions until being named Regional Manager for Latam in Jan 2004. In 2005 his position was expanded to Field Manager for US, In 2008 was appointed as a Regional Mgr for Americas and Japan where he served until his most recent promotion as a WW director.
A native of Venezuela, Nestor holds a Bachelor degree in Computer Science from the Polytechnical Institute, a master's degree in Business Administration from Universidad Metropolitana, a Marketing postgraduate degree from Universidad Central de Venezuela and a Management and leadership program at Universidad de La Sabana, Colombia. He also served as a Consultant for the Intl Dev Bank in Haiti and Panama in 1995.
